CREATING MY SPACE

MY PROCESS
BEFORE

My Create a Space project was the biggest I assignment I had ever had and I had underestimated the amount of time it would take to fully recreate my vision onto a huge bulletin board.

My project is about making SMARTER goals. It is an acronym to help students set their goals and achieve them. I knew that since I didn't have a specific subject we taught in the achievement centre, I had to find a broader subject for anyone.
This is beneficial to my students who are struggling to complete their goals, or don't know where to start when it comes to having goals. Having a goal will help motivate the students in the achievement centre to go above and beyond, even when they are redoing a course or feeling like they can't accomplish what they want to do.

This was my first draft of my bulletin board. I cut all of the big red letters and wrote the little speech bubbles myself. Finding the time to completely finish all of it was by far one of the hardest aspects of this project. Another challenge I had was coming up with the concept. Although, once I saw Goal Setting as one of the examples, I thought it would be perfect for my class!

I also ended up cutting a few examples from my board due to there not being enough space for all of it.
AFTER
This is what my final project looks like! I'm very pleased with how it turned out, especially with how hard I worked to utilize the full space on the board. I also added in an area where students could come and write their own SMARTER goals in the 'Our Goals' section. I included a few caramel rewards for them once they did complete one of their goals, since that was the last 'R' in SMARTER. In conclusion, I'm proud of the work I accomplished and hope that this will inspire my students to create SMARTER goals!
